Sarah DeLeo: I´m in Heaven Tonight

Sarah DeLeo è una vera sorpresa, adesso alla seconda incisioni in proprio e presenta il solito mix di canzoni moderne (c'è "Let It Rain" di Patricia Barber) e classici. La sua voce è di quelle inossidabili, da grande cantante bianca (alla Peggy Lee o Lena Horne) e ad accompagnarla c'è anche il nostro Fabio Morgera. L'album è prodotto con molta perizia, scegliendo di mettere insieme brani in cui si fa accompagnare dall'organo ed altri in cui si fa accompagnare dal pianoforte, riuscendo a creare delle atmosfere emozionanti, ad esempio in "No Moon at All," uno dei momenti migliori dell'album, con l'organo che sottolinea l'atmosfera notturna, o "Let It Rain," con il piano di David Cook.

Dal suo sito web si apprende che attualmente è impegnata con il suo bambino e che si prende una pausa di qualche anno. Al ritorno sulle scene la riascolteremo volentieri. I tempi non sono più quelli delle orchestre da ballo e delle grandi cantanti, eppure una voce così è in grado di attirare l'attenzione degli ascoltatori anche oggi, perchè straordinariamente comunicativa.
