Daniela Schächter: I colori del mare
La capacità di scrittura della Schächter le ha permesso di dar vita ad un album eclettico e senza cadute di tono, che è un manifesto di tutto quello che sa fare, dal trio di "Dark Blue" al piano solo di "Thinking About You", arrangiando negli altri brani un ensemble dalle geometrie sempre variabili e che lei tiene costantemente sotto controllo.
Le sue possibilità sono tante e così è ancora indecisa se intraprendere una strada alla Diana Krall - belli i brani in cui usa la voce, "Terra madre" e "On a Clear Day" - o se lavorare ancora su brani eleganti e dai complessi meccanismi, in cui Sipiagin ed il sassofonista Jimmy Greene si trovano a loro agio integrando assoli efficaci ed espressivi in esecuzioni ben strutturate. Ma è la Schächter la star del disco, precisa ed efficace, con il suo pianismo così morbido ed armonicamente fluido; sempre presente come leader ma mai in primo piano e con una emozionalità compassata, quasi un centro di gravità invisibile.
Sarà il tempo, insieme agli accordi con i produttori, a decidere in che direzione vorrà andare la giovane pianista italiana, senza dubbio preparatissima su tanti terreni. I colori del mare è un catalogo completo delle sue doti e dopo l'ascolto non ci resta che aspettare le sorprese che di sicuro saprà riservarci.
