The Orange Beach: Fuzz You!
E' un album "leggero" e acido al tempo stesso questo Fuzz You!, in cui spesso - tra un brano e il successivo - c'è lo spazio di uno o due secondi non sufficienti a prendere il fiato. Raccoglie decenni di rock Fuzz You!, per fortuna senza prendere troppo sul serio l'intento e soprattutto senza che la band si riduca a copiare, e sarebbe piuttosto noioso in questa sede raccontarvi di tutti i riferimenti.
"BdS (Bar del Sole)" diverte per l'utilizzo da parte della chitarra dello slide, creando l'inconfondibile immaginario americano, il surf, le palme, l'oceano. "I Talk to the Wine" parodìa (solo dal titolo) consciamente o no "I Talk to the Wind" dei King Crimson. Una lunga e potente cavalcata rock/blues.
Spicca per contrasto tra i brani "Fairies Wear White Shoes," con il suo incedere in chiave minore: la musica come rifugio dall'appassire della bellezza. Il sogno perlato mai iniziato e mai finito - ma tormentato come un sonno turbato da indigestione - dei contestati (non da tutti) anni '80.
E' da qui in poi che Fuzz You! sembra calare di intensità e di volume, ma è solo un'illusione. Infatti ecco comparire il terzo brano cantato alla traccia 11, "Ernest's Fear" è un blues della perdizione, semplice e comunicativo come il blues sa essere. Il passaggio batteria/chitarra è la caduta da un dirupo. "The Orange Beach" è naturalmente un nostalgico omaggio a se stessi, alla band e ancora nuovamente alla storia del rock. Lunga vita.
