Questo album di Andrea Pagani lo conferma pianista attento e curioso per i suoni del mondo, capace di circondarsi di compagni di viaggio che bene assecondano la sua visione allargata che tocca blues, jazz, funky e musica popolare con un tocco deciso che bene si sposa con il materiale tematico che alterna pezzi originali con alcuni standard come "Love for Sale" e "Dolphin Dance".

For the Sea è il suo primo progetto discografico e viene distribuito un po' in ritardo per problemi che si possono ben immaginare. In realtà questo è un lavoro del 2005 e bene rappresenta il mondo variegato, dinamico e pieno di colori solari di questo tastierista romano capace di alternare ballate delicate ed escursioni piene di verve e di swing.

Il nucleo centrale di questo album è affidato alla classica formazione in trio, ma non mancano aggiunte di vari profumi portati da solisti ospiti che appartengono a quel circuito romano del quale lo stesso Pagani fa parte da tempo.
