JC Stylles: Exhilaration and Other States
Questa caratteristica si evidenzia nei continui passaggi da ballad fascinose come "Don't Explain" a situazioni molto più movimentate, vedi "Tune for Roger," da brani svolti a velocità sostenuta come nel caso di "I Can't Help It" a quelli giocati con passo felpato, come "It Seems Like You're Ready". La padronanza chitarristica di JC Stylles consente al trio di muoversi con estrema disinvoltura nell'alternanza degli umori e atmosfere che rendono l'album molto piacevole e intressante, in un percorso che riserva belle sorprese fino all'ultima curva. Il leader è dotato di tocco preciso, timbro caldo e grande senso melodico; la sua chitarra "parla" un linguaggio facilmente assimilabile e comprensibile, il che rende alcuni brani molto suggestivi - in tal senso va segnalata l'ottima "Love for Sale" - e dal forte appeal.
L'unico originale in programma, la conclusiva "Samba Steps," ribadisce i concetti del trio guidato da JC Stylles, aggiungendo un ulteriore colore alla tavolozza di questo lavoro.
