Schmitt's softly confessional "Lovely Wife" is full of warmth and intimacy. He also shows that he is a guitarist capable of deep vulnerability, and Blanchard affirms that he is a musician with similar ideals and temperament.

Beier's intense "Swing and Ready" blends nostalgic themes with modal techniques and bebop influences. The tune functions like a brief history lesson, flowing smoothly from cafe swing to modern harmonic exploration, all propelled by Beier's commanding, versatile touch.
