Ethnic Heritage Ensemble, Lukas Traxel, Club D’Elf & JuJu

Spirit Gatherer—Tribute To Don Cherry is a forthcoming album by the esteemed Ethnic Heritage Ensemble that is worth checking out. Don Cherry's son David Ornette Cherry and vocalist Dwight Trible join the Ensemble for a session that captures the essence of one of the most important musicians in any genre. Other new recordings sampled in this edition include Swiss bassist Lukas Traxel's debut, Norwegian brothers Isach and Lauritz Skeidsvoll, Japan's Satoko Fujii hook up for the first time with guitarist Otomo Yoshihide, the eclectic Club d'Elf, the reissue of the San Francisco band JuJu, and English singer Julie Tippetts improvising over music recorded in 1979 by her late husband, pianist Keith Tippett.
