Andrea Celeste - Andrea Pozza: Enter Eyes

Secondo CD per la non ancora ventiquattrenne cantante toscana Andrea Celeste, che con il precedente My Reflection si era messa in luce come una interessante promessa. Qui, accompagnata dal solo pianoforte dell'ottimo e misurato Andrea Pozza (che firma anche le musiche di un buon numero di brani), può esprimersi di volta in volta nel modo che le sia più congeniale. Complice anche un repertorio che vede accanto ai classici standard e alle composizioni originali anche brani pop, dai Beatles, Stevie Wonder, Paul Simon.

Va riconosciuta alla giovane cantante una non comune capacità di adattare il tono della voce alle atmosfere, passando da cristallini toni alti a levigate interpretazioni assai più scure. Non vi è alcun uso di artifici e vocalizzi, ma invece - accanto ad un tradizionale ma articolato canto narrativo - una ricca modulazione che quasi avvolge il suono del pianoforte.

Il lavoro è comprensibilmente caratterizzato da un leggero eccesso di omogeneità, ciononostante non solo si mantiene gradevolissimo, grazie all'accuratezza delle interpretzioni (e Pozza non è da meno della conatante), ma addirittura s'impenna sul finire, grazie a una "Pure Immagination" condotta a due voci con Matteo Brancaleone, una splendida "Bridge Over Troubled Water" che non fa rimpiangere l'originale (ed è così raro...) e una conclusiva "You Don't Know What Love Is" sofisticatissima nonostante (o forse grazie al fatto che) sia l'unica registrata dal vivo, al Valbadia Jazz Festival.

Bella vetrina per una cantante della quale sentiremo molto parlare.
