Colter Frazier - Rob Wallace: Duo
La musica è decisamente astratta ed evocativa, con il rugoso suono del sax di Frazier che si espande nello spazio alla ricerca di punti di appoggio puntulamente forniti dalla scansione piena di micro fratture proveniente dalla batteria e dalle percussioni di Wallace. I due sanno muoversi con circospezione e senso del racconto, mettendo sotto alla lente di ingrandimento piccoli dettagli ritmici e brandelli melodici che altrimenti si perderebbero nello spazio allargato che circonda questa esplorazione intelligente e metodica.
Raramente il percorso diventa frenetico e incalzante, il passo è decisamente quello di chi si guarda attorno per incamerare gli stimoli e le sensazioni, lasciando che lo spazio infinito bagni i suoni e le riflessioni, senza alcuna fretta di arrivare ad una conclusione che per forza di cose sarebbe comunque apparente.
