The Plug, un trio che nasce intorno alla figura del batterista Giovanni Giorgi con la collaborazione di Andrea Lombardini e Gianluca Petrella. The Plug come la spina elettrica che accende Dawn, lo illumina, lo rende incandescente, irradiando scintille colorate e fulminanti intuizioni. The Plug, con i primi trenta secondi del disco che sembrano provenire direttamente dal davisiano Tutu, e non può essere che un complimento. Con la title track dedicata a Bjork che non sfigurerebbe in un ipotetico greatest hits dell'artista islandese. Con una voce italiana, quella di Sergio Cocchi, che per una volta non imita una voce americana. Con una versione di "Sad Song" di Carla Bley così intensa da commuovere anche il più insensibile dei cuori e con "Since I've Been Loving You," i Led Zeppelin come non li avete mai sentiti.

The Plug, un trio che si fa beffe di etichette, di classificazioni, di purismi e di puristi e crea una musica viva, palpitante. Dove acustico ed elettrico/elettronico si combinano in maniera del tutto naturale dando vita a scenari suggestivi. Dove Petrella indirizza la sua straripante esuberanza verso una vena melodica davvero sorprendente, dove Lombardini con il basso elettrico alimenta una pulsazione continua ed elastica, dove Giorgi frantuma il ritmo, lo riassembla, lo rilancia. Dove testo, canto e spoken word per una volta non la fanno a pugni con l'improvvisazione.

The Plug e Dawn, un disco bello da vedere, elegante nel packaging cartonato, ecologico - carta proveniente da foreste correttamente gestite e colori rigorosamente ad acqua - e naturalmente bello da ascoltare.
