In Children of the Light il procedimento creativo supera così i confini strettamente musicali per allargarsi a momento di riflessione, nel quale immaginazione, inventiva, sensibilità, maestria strumentale, visioni e sogni, si combinano superbamente in un disco di grande intensità, di ampio respiro e di indiscutibile dolcezza.
Le dinamiche del modern piano trio non mancano di certo, vedi il ferreo interplay, una paritaria distribuzione dei ruoli, pur con la fisiologica maggior esposizione del pianoforte, attenzione alle coloriture ed alle sfumature timbriche, varietà di tempi e di strutture compositive. Ma i tre interpreti le trasformano, le elevano ad una dimensione nella quale le cose accadono con naturalezza, dove percorsi intricati si sviluppano con grande souplesse, le improvvisazioni, pur addentrandosi di frequente in territori tutt'altro che accomodanti, scorrono fluide e prive di gravità.
L'uso moderato in alcuni brani di strumenti elettrificati, lungi dal rivelarsi un'operazione posticcia a la page, diventa momento di straniante eleganza, una sorta di necessaria e piacevole decompressione per apprezzare una musica che dietro l'apparente semplicità rivela ferrea organizzazione e profondità di pensiero.
