Enrico Pieranunzi - Marc Johnson - Joey Baron: Ballads
Che sin dalla rivisitazione di un tema di Tenco (“Mi sono innamorato di te”), privilegia un mondo musicale raffinato ed elegante, che farà la gioia dei palati più sopraffini. Un affresco esaltante, con un bagaglio di ingredienti davvero pregiati, che privilegia il gioco delle sottrazioni al compiacimento tecnico o alle forzature del beat. Due standard (“These Foolish Things”, “A Flower Is a Lovesome Thing”) ed alcune tra le più ammalianti composizioni del pianista costituiscono il terreno ideale per una pratica musicale di profonda sensibilità, che si compone di vari, preziosi segni: nitore espressivo; crepuscolarità; elegante cura della forma; predilezione per le dinamiche ed i timbri più morbidi. Ed in più la classe del leader, insuperato balladeur.
Sussurri ed accenni per delineare un percorso intimo quanto ricco di raffinata cantabilità, ad opera di un trio stratosferico che, pur capace di fungere da potente macchina ritmica, tende qui il filo sottile della ricerca melodica allo stadio puro. Ne discende per l’ascoltatore un’ora di intensa emozione.
Da non perdere.
