Allow me to say at the outset that this is not music I would rush to the nearest record store to buy. On the other hand, there are many others who might. If one bases his evaluation on size and instrumentation, Ultrasound (based in Bristol, England) is a “big band” (although it prefers the term “contemporary Jazz ensemble”), but definitely not in the traditional (i.e., straight–ahead) sense of the term.
