Day 1 | Day 2 | Day 3 | Day 4 | Day 5 | Day 6Arve Henriksen / Marilyn Mazur / Tomasz Stańko Molde Jazz Molde, Norway July 14, 2009For the uninitiated, it can be somewhat disorienting to leave a concert at 10 at night and find it still daylight outside; even more disconcerting when an outdoor show complete with gut-punching bass begins an hour later. In most cities ...

Perfect chemistry should not be disturbed, and Tomasz Stanko and ECM reprise their winning combination on Lontano. This is the third ECM release with Stanko and his regular trio of pianist Marcin Wasilewski, bassist Slawomir Kurkiewicz and drummer Michal Miskiewicz. As with the previous two releases, this disc features variations of a tune, in this case the title tune. The band visits Lontano" three times. In each subsequent interpretation they deconstruct and explore it with agile sensitivity.
