Una serie di standards e cinque originals questo CD di Michael Camacho, elegante cantante statunitense, che fra l'altro ripesca pure “Norwegian Wood" beatlesiana memoria. Michael Camacho is, to most, a new name for jazz vocals. He immediately captures the attention with a cool, comfortable style that displays his knack for absorbing any number of styles. His opening original, “Just For You," allows him to perform a medium tempo scat which, technically, is nothing unusual or outstanding, but does suggest that he is singing this from his heart and not from the jazz singer's textbook.

Michael Camacho, a silver-throated jazz vocalist, introduced his new CD, Just For You, with three sets at The Bacchus Room on May 24. Between the CD and his live performance, one thing is clear about Camacho. He knows what he's doing. And what he's doing is staking his claim as a front-runner among that rarest of songbirds today--the male jazz singer.
