Julius Eastman, morto non ancora cinquantenne nel 1990, è stato un esponente del minimalismo (nonché pianista, cantante e ballerino) influenzato a diverso titolo da John Cage, Morton Feldman e Meredith Monk (della quale fu in particolare collaboratore).
