Il quartetto E.S.P. si è dato come modello, dichiarato ed evidente, il jazz venato di fusion di gruppi come Yellowjackets, Spyro Gyra, Steps Ahead mantenendosi però in un territorio leggermente più jazzistico rispetto ai nomi citati. Questo album li vede alle prese con undici composizioni suddivise fra tre componenti del gruppo: il chitarrista John Magnante, il saxofonista-flautista Brian Scherer e il bassista Matthew Vacanti.
