Futterman, who plays mainly piano, has recorded with the genre-bending Hal Russell; Kidd Jordan played contrabass clarinet for Hamiet Bluiett, but sticks to tenor sax here. Alvin Fielder is a sensitive and daring percussionist a la Sunny Murray.
