Both the name of the band (At War With Self) and the title of their debut album ( Torn Between Dimensions ) vividly describe the clearly schizophrenic nature of this new trio featuring guitarist/keyboardist Glenn Snelwar, bassist Michael Manring and Fates Warning drummer Mark Zonder. And yet as contradictory as these ten compositions clearly are, there's a unifying progressive nature to the whole proceeding that will appeal, in particular, to fans of the group Gordian Knot, to which Snelwar contributed. ...
