Despite its concentration of esteemed jazz pedagogists, the title of Boston's greatest pianist should now be bestowed upon 29 year-old Leo Genovese. Davvero intrigante questo Planet Safety del trio Gullotti/Zinno/Genovese. Che inizia con un classico del jazz moderno, “Pinocchio” di Wayne Shorter, e ... sembrerebbe tutto già scritto. Ritmo serrato, basso e batteria dal drive impeccabile, pianoforte incalzante, agile, nervoso quanto basta, pienamente padrone delle intricate armonie del grande sassofonista.
