Ángela Varo: Andalusian jazz violinist, educator, multi-instrumentalist and Berklee College of Music graduate

On this show we chat with Ángela Varo who is an Andalusian violinist, educator, multi-instrumentalist, improviser, arranger, producer, and composer from Baena, Córdoba. She is a recent master's scholar and current undergraduate student (B.M. Contemporary Writing and Production, Performance; graduated 2023 with M.M. Global Jazz program) at Berklee College of Music in Boston, Ma. Ms. Varo was raised in a very musical family, with influences including Opera and Flamenco, and the fusion of cultures in southern Spain. She specializes in the fusion of jazz and flamenco violin, among other styles. In addition, Ms. Varo collaborates with flamenco versions of women's compositions with the flamenco guitarist, Antonio Contiñez. Varo is also part of Grammy Nominated Group: Danilo Pérez's Global Jazz Messengers.Tags
