A splendid evening of music was presented by the Enrico Rava and Tomasz Stanko Quintet at Mole Vanvitelliana in Ancona, Italy on July 18, 2017. It was an original presentation with each trumpeter showcasing their unique stylistic approaches to their respective horns. Rounding out the quintet included pianist Giovanni Guidi, bassist Dezron Douglas, and drummer Gerald Cleaver. The music for this project was written by both Stańko and Rava and culminated in an unforgettable evening of distinctive modern jazz played by two master trumpeters.
Jazz is for me the most important cultural revolution of the 20th century and I'm proud to
play this kind of music. For me, jazz is more than a kind of music, it's the best way of playing
any musical material.
