The future is seen through X-ray eyes from the diagnosis of the present time. The music of Vaticínios (“Predictions” in Portuguese) is just that: a risk into the dark, not having pre-planning, presenting the future in the sound act. I recorded a big part of this album with the lights out and I trusted in my own intuition, skill and ears. And I challenged myself transmitting live on Instagram and on Facebook. This is not purely and simply free-improvisation here, but also real-time composition in the recording. There’s no pursuit for the most perfectly playing, technically speaking. There’s, indeed, a quest for the most sincere and energetic emotional delivery in the performances. And everything here is a symbolic act of coping adverse times.
