This happy rhythm is the new record of Giuliano Ligabue released by the independent label Level49. A four tracks EP where Giuliano confirms that he's a complete artist with a great voice that has its roots in the Crooner's tradition but at the same time with a remarkable versatility that allows him to feel perfectly at ease even in musical different styles. The songs range between typically Jazz sounds to Pop and Soul. « The idea of this Ep was born during the lockdown, in such a dramatic time it was difficult for me to think about producing music but when I listened to "Why must I wait?" something changed in my mind thinking about the title of this song. From here the idea of getting to work immediately. Then I thought of "This happy rhythm" as the main song of this EP, an happy and optimistic Swing to exorcise a really negative moment » . Giuliano " This happy rhythm" is composed and arranged by Giuliano Ligabue, this song gives the title to the EP. It represents the best Swingin' side of Giuliano, an upbeat song with an irresistible rhythm that opens with a captivating riff from his 7-string semi-acoustic guitar. "This happy rhythm" is embellished by the alto saxophone of Mattia Cigalini whose notes fit perfectly with the voice and the "scat" virtuosisms in unison with the guitar (technique that Giuliano perfectly masters and uses extensively in all the songs of the Ep). " Why must I wait?" Is a song written by Alessandro Bertozzi and originally performed by Hiram Bullock. In this version Giuliano Ligabue excellently tries his hand with more Soul nuances, virtually duet with the great American guitarist. About this song Giuliano said: «Working on the original tracks recorded by Hiram 13 years ago was exciting, I tried to make this song my own, approaching it with respect and humility, I thank the Level49 record label for giving me this opportunity». The EP is completed by the instrumental version of "This happy rhythm" and the radio edit of "Why must I wait?".
