Giuliano Ligabue

Singer and guitarist

About Me

Highly talented singer and guitarist, Giuliano Ligabue stands out among all Italian Jazz musicians. He is an exceptional interpreter of the Great American Songbook to which his crooner’s voice infuse pathos and emotional involvement. His mastery of the guitar joint to an irresistible charm that he takes from the retro atmosphere of the Swing era, guarantee quality, elegance and stylistic refinement to his performances. Giuliano is one among the few musicians who play a seven strings guitar, like George van Eps, Howard Alden, Bucky and John Pizzarelli. He has grown up musically in the footsteps of his father, singer and musician himself. Despite his young age, he presents an enviable national and international experience and collaborations, including Stefano Caniato, Mario Zara, Gianni Azzali, Michele Franzini, Walter Ganda, Mattia Cigalini, Alessandro Bertozzi, Paolo Tomelleri, John Colianni (pianist of Lionel Hampton, Mel Tormé, Les Paul, Woody Allen). The large repertoire of Giuliano Ligabue is a fine mix of Jazz, Swing, Bossa nova and other styles, where you can find the Swing classics brought to success by Frank Sinatra, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett, Ray Charles and many others, and rearranged Pop songs, to which he offers his personal interpretation thru his unique, gentle, unmistakable voice. In the Italian Jazz scene, Giuliano Ligabue stands out among the few, if not the only one, capable to offer to audience and fans an incredible combination of guitar virtuosisms and a warm vocal style.
