Album Description

The new Album of Giuliano Ligabue, Giuliano Ligabue Live at Summertime in Jazz, is available on the most important Digital Stores as from December 3rd, 2016, and the CD was released on December 15th, 2016. We refer to the live recording of the first night of the important project conceived and carried forward by the Italian, talented singer, guitarist, composer and arranger who presented it on July 15th in Travo (Piacenza), within the excellent bill of the “Summertime in Jazz” event, organized by the Piacenza Jazz Club. Twelve tracks, seven musicians, the guitar and the unmistakable voice of Giuliano Ligabue narrate of the new musical course of this protagonist of the Jazz scenario, where Swing matches with revised Pop pieces and the warm sonorities of Bossa Nova. The result is a new, personal, deeply enthralling interpretation, both vocal and instrumental. Giuliano Ligabue has added, to a sound rhythmic section - piano, bass, drum, his guitar - a four-wind section - trumpet, trombone, alto sax, tenor sax - thus recreating the atmosphere and intimate sounds of the Big Bands that once accompanied artist such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Nat King Cole, or nowadays’ Diana Krall, Michael Bublé e Harry Connick Jr. Warm and confidential, the voice of Giuliano turns into a distinctive mark when joined to his guitar virtuoso, his peculiar arrangements and interpretation of the classic of the American Songbook, to which he offers a brand new, personal whispered romanticism and gritty dynamics. Giuliano Ligabue has made all the arrangements except for Feeling Good and Sway, arranged by Stefano Caniato and Lady be Good arranged by Giuliano Ligabue and Stefano Caniato.
