“Rioga I Mbeirteanna (Feat. Cuong Vu)” is the first single from līder|lāder, the forthcoming full-length release by Andrew Lion.
Blurring the lines between post-jazz, progressive indie music, electric and electronic sound design, and urgent improvisational moments, the piece unfolds as both invocation and departure (from Andrew’s more cinematic electro-acoustic Negative Press Project works)- restless, searching, and unafraid of charged and driving pulse.
Featuring the unmistakable voice of Cuong Vu (Trumpet, Pat Metheny Group, David Bowie, etc.), the recording moves through tension and atmosphere with a sense of motion that is imbued with the uneasy beauty of Frippian angular movement with soaring melodic and improvisational approaches- equal parts momentum and fracture, signal and collapse.
Rather than announcing arrival, “Rioga I Mbeirteanna” opens a threshold: a first glimpse into the emotional and sonic world of līder|lāder, songs for the willful, the wandering, and the unquiet mind.
