Album Description

Since 2014, Norrbotten Big Band has welcomed an artist in residence each year, opening up a close, adventurous collaboration in the search for music that does not yet exist. In 2024, we had the great privilege of welcoming Nils Berg. I have known Nils for many years, and to me he is one of the most fascinating musical voices in this part of the world. Far from everyone who composes music is a composer. To truly inhabit that role is to create worlds, atmospheres, and characters--to shape a narrative through sound. Nils has mastered all of this with his own unique tone of voice, and I am truly happy that the result of this endeavor--this recording--has become a beautiful expression of light, life, and love." ~Joakim Milder, Artistic Director, Norrbotten Big Band
