Album Description

Titus Maz returns in February 2026 with a new album titled Midnight Station. Finalized in the closing months of 2025, the record follows the brighter The Way You Like It, an album that opened the door to new playlists, concerts, and formative experiences. Midnight Station reflects a natural progression more introspective, shaped by growth on the road and in the studio, and rooted in the late-night spaces where reflection and momentum quietly meet.

The album features some local talents and international musicians who are following Titus in his musical journey.

Titus Maz is an Italian artist living in London since 2015. These years have been marked by challenge and adaptation, navigating diverse musical environments while reflecting on personal losses from earlier in life. The constant buzz and excitement of the city often collide with moments of loneliness and friction, shaping both perspective and sound.

As a guitarist, Titus Maz has fused a session-musician mindset with a deeply personal artistic vision, developed through early band projects, jazz jam session hosting, gospel ensemble leadership, and a wide range of collaborative adventures.

Each single cover is an original photograph taken by Titus Maz, captured at different moments over the past few years.

Midnight Station was shot near a Brooklyn subway stop in NYC, just moments before joining an electric jam session and meeting new people. This Year I Want to Travel More captures a quiet moment on the beach in Brighton, taken before an emotionally intense studio session. After the Moonlight It’s You features the Hackney sky on a lonely early-January night. Anja blends a chakra symbol with the night sky, reflecting its spiritual and introspective origins. Steppin’ on a Tree Branch represents the act of stepping into thought, caught in motion while hopping on a bus. Nun e’ Peccato was captured in Naples, Italy an exhausted walk through the old part of the city, heavy with history and feeling.

Never been a day without you represents the brush strokes typical of a specific era of Titus mother’s painting style.

Here’s a brief description of each track :

“Midnight Station” captures the stillness of traveling home after a show the neon lights, the tired adrenaline, the melodies that linger. With expressive guitar lines and mellow groove, it blends modern UK jazz with a cinematic night-time feel. It’s the first step into my new album’s world: reflective, soulful, and built for late-night listening.

it delivers the excitement of UK jazz at full speed while keeping a cool, nocturnal edge. It’s the first spark of the new album.

Never Been a Day Without You is a contemporary jazz mid-tempo track written in memory of my mother, who passed away in 2013. The song reflects on how grief quietly evolves into presence the idea that love doesn’t disappear, it settles into everyday life. Warm harmonies, expressive phrasing, and a restrained groove create space for reflection rather than drama. It’s an intimate, timeless piece that fits reflective jazz, modern instrumental/vocal jazz, and late-night listening contexts.

“This year, I really want to travel more” takes a familiar Hinge-bio cliché and flips it into a sophisticated, grooving samba/Latin jazz tune. While the title nods to modern dating culture with irony, the music itself is warm, rhythm-driven, and deeply rooted in jazz tradition live instrumentation, syncopated Brazilian-inspired rhythms, and a relaxed yet uplifting feel. It’s a feel-good track that works both as a smile-inducing listen and as a genuinely crafted jazz composition, perfect for summer moods, travel daydreaming, and contemporary jazz playlists.

“Steppin’ on That Tree Branch” is an instrumental contemporary jazz track from guitarist Titus Maz’s upcoming 2026 album, blending improvisational jazz guitar with a modern hip-hop–influenced groove. Born from live jam sessions, it showcases Maz’s harmonic quirkiness through fluid lines and unexpected chord movement, grounded in a deep, beat-driven pocket. The production features standout UK-based musicians, adding a collaborative, forward-thinking edge that bridges modern jazz, nu-fusion.

“After the moonlight, it’s you”  : Titus Maz transforms the rhythmic cadence of the phrase “After the moonlight, it’s you” into a guitar motif that propels the song toward an Afrobeat feel. Piano and synth textures add subtle nods to ’70s prog-jazz, expanding the harmonic landscape without overpowering the groove. The track is also shaped by the energy of gospel ensemble concerts led by Titus Maz over the past few years, informed by collaborations with various gospel artists and a deep sense of communal expression.

Anjais a tune in 7/8 that grew out of a spiritual chord progression. The title emerged playfully when Titus Maz came across a chakra guru explaining the position of the third chakra between the eyebrows. As a child, long before playing any instrument, I would instinctively focus on my forehead during quiet moments of reflection, while imagining irregular tempos and unconventional rhythms. In that sense, the name Anja unexpectedly connects an early, intuitive experience with a holistic and spiritual concept that carries deeper meaning.

Nun e’ Peccato is the closing chord-melody solo guitar piece on the album, presented as a free-tempo interpretation of the classic Neapolitan song composed by Vincenzo Valente and Libero Bovio. Through past collaborations with Neapolitan artists, I’ve continually encountered songs from this tradition that feel remarkably timeless — music that remains emotionally current and naturally lends itself to a contemporary jazz language. This rendition honors the song’s heritage while allowing space for personal expression and improvisational freedom.
