ABOUT TITUS MAZ : ———————————————————————————- Titus Maz, is a UK based Italian-born guitarist, composer and producer. He began playing classical guitar at a young age, but quickly discovered his passion for the electric guitar. Throughout the years, he has honed his skills in both fingerpicking on the acoustic guitar and delving into electric guitar styles, blending jazz, blues and rock. Active on stage since 1994, he has played with local bands and performed at festivals in Italy and Europe. He also made trips to the USA since 1996 for recording studio and live collaborations. Titus Maz Quartet/Trio is comprised of some of the most talented and established musicians based in London. Led by Titus Maz, the group is inspired by jazz and uses it as a foundation to branch out into fusion, latin, world, r&b and other genres. Improvisation is key, while maintaining a focus on interplay and groove. During his years in Northeastern Italy, Titus had the opportunity to deepen his knowledge of blues and jazz at CAMM, and was involved in some exciting bands touring the area. In London, he has dedicated himself to the study of jazz, composition, performance and production, achieving a BA (with Honours) at LCCM Uni (University of Middlesex/Open University). London has also given him the chance to attend workshops, masterclasses and courses with renowned musicians such as pianist Barry Harris, Guthrie Govan, Peter Bernstein, Mike Stern and Dave O'Higgins, among others. He also successfully completed a Jazz Improvisation course at Berklee Online, taught by renowned pianist Gary Burton. Titus has released tracks as a solo artist and with his bands: Baby Powder (NeoSoul/Funk) and Measures Quartet (Jazz/NuSoul), and has performed and released music with rising artists on the worldwide music scene such as Mikyla Cara, Valntna, Roberta Silva, Ayanna, Andre Louis, Wezi, Ace Motif, MOTS band, Prolific, Nicole and many more. The Quartet and collective have been actively hosting jam sessions in many London clubs for many years and their fresh approach to live performance is flourishing into new projects and original material.
