Album Description
About “H.u.M.o”: This project is created at the end of 2021, detachment of what was a group that played the music of Ornette Coleman, of which only remained the vientists Lucas A, Juan Ignacio and Matías, who with the idea (after the pandemic) to return to make music, begin to study their compositions as a trio. First the idea of doing a recording session arises, looking for a rhythm section, to generate a material; and weeks before the recording, Lucas' second son is born and it is suspended. Time went by, priorities changed, and the idea of putting together a stable group began to take shape. Over the years and for different reasons, the group is assembled and disassembled several times, and it was only at the beginning of 2024, when Lucas M, Ramiro and Lisandro join the band, where the project takes shape again and consolidates in what is now H.u.M.o. H.u.M.o is a sextet of original music, with strong roots in jazz, being both improvisation and timbre exploration provided by the instrumental, pillars in their compositions. This first material is an EP with two original compositions “Se ríe, compró sesos” by Matías Formica and “No como lo pensaba” by Lucas Albarracín. The first one is “The Hard Blues” by the American saxophonist Julius Hemphill, incredible musician and inspiration, creator of iconic groups such as the World Saxophone Quartet; and “This is it” by the incredible American saxophonist Steve Lacy, both referents with very marked languages and own styles that have influenced countless musicians..
