Album Description

Arabop is a word I invented in order to reflect the presence of the essential characteristics of Arabic music and bebop lines in my music. This is my third album, a major departure from my previous works. It has completely new sounds, sounds that never have been created on any previous recording.. I went beyond what is allowed to play on the instrument.. after trying different ones.. I returned to the Stratocaster- the one that my parents bought me when I was in high school.
Michel Sajrawy

I want to thank God, my family and friends, Dagobert Bohm, Barak Weiss, Muneer Karram, Rimon Haddad for borrowing me his jazz bass and Elias Habib for allowing me to use his percussions. I would also like to thank my band and the musicians who worked with me on this album. A special thanks to the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Sports for sponsoring this work.

This album is dedicated to the memory of my father.
