Across the Sky è una sorta di cittadinanza onoraria musicale, nella quale l'improvvisazione è naturalmente il nocciolo duro della registrazione, ma si rivela così ricca di riferimenti, così aperta ad altre musiche che l'ascoltatore viene accompagnato in un viaggio che tocca diverse corde dell'anima e solletica le più diverse sensibilità.
Non solo quindi torrenziali scorribande nelle quali vengono evocati i grandi sassofonisti dell'epoca free, o feroci escursioni dinamiche nelle quali i volumi portano ad uno stato di stordimento totale, ma anche oasi (si fa per dire) di relativa tranquillità. Sono questi i momenti nei quali il trio imprime il proprio marchio di originalità con la straordinaria tecnica dei protagonisti messa al servizio di una ricerca timbrica a tratti sorprendente.
