Roberto Cipelli - Paolo Fresu - Philippe Garcia - Gianmaria Testa - Attilio Zanchi: A Léo
Il punto è che un gruppo di musicisti italiani che ripropone, quarant'anni dopo, la canzone d'autore francese, ha un che di posticcio. Banalmente, Léo Ferré, la canzone d'autore francese, non ci appartengono (ed è forse questo, ricollegandoci a quanto esposto poc'anzi, che rende complesso se non impossibile darne una rielaborazione creativa).
La sgradevole sensazione è poi confermata da alcune tracce nelle quali vengono letti frammenti dell'Art Poétique di Paul Verlaine. Perchè se è vero che lo stesso Ferré aveva affrontato i "poeti maledetti", e quindi anche Baudelaire e Rimbaud (ma il nostro si era confrontato anche con Aragon e Apollinaire), qui si intravede un ammiccamento, una sorta di compiacimento nei confronti della propria cultura. Sembra quasi di sentire una voce che dice "quanto siamo bravi, noi che facciamo un album in francese! ... e già che ci siamo ci mettiamo dentro anche Verlaine, che fa sempre fino".
Ecco allora che, paradossalmente ma non troppo, i frammenti dell'album più sinceri ci sembrano quelli che sono anche più distanti dal "progetto": "Lontano Lontano" di Luigi Tenco, "Free Poétique" di Cipelli, e "Monsieur William", brano minore nel repertorio dell'artista di Monte Carlo.
