Standard Obsession si intitolava l’ultimo lavoro, sempre per Splasc(h) e sempre in solitario, del chitarrista Lanfranco Malaguti. E “l’ossessione“ per gli standard prosegue anche in questo A gola spiegata, dove accanto a classici autori del versante jazzistico trovano posto la premiata ditta Lennon - Mc Cartney, la penna delicata di Jobim, il pluri-premiato Oscar Henry Mancini.

Ma tanto Standard Obsession era titolo assai pertinente così A gola spiegata risulta ingannevole. Perchè semmai protagonisti di questa incisione sono il sussurro, la delicatezza, la raffinatezza, la misura, i colori pastello, la sobrietà esecutiva.

Malaguti affronta la forma canzone con grande rispetto per la melodia, senza inutili orpelli né rigoglioso arabeschi, cercando di coglierne l’intima essenza per poi declinarla secondo la propria sensibilità.

L’approccio improvvisativo sulla fedele Gibson riporta alla mente l’insegnamento di Lennie Tristano per rigore, lucidità di fraseggio, controllo delle dinamiche, padronanza delle sfumature. Mentre il suono nitido, cristallino, senza riverberi della chitarra accompagna al meglio le architetture sonore di Lanfranco Malaguti.
