Hiromi: Voice
Una combinazione strutturale che esula dal pre-confezionato e propone un jazz a tinte decise, rapido nel trovare con puntualità estrema la giusta tensione, quel particolare feeling che tiene viva l'attenzione di chi ascolta, e riserva continuamente un discreto bagaglio di cambiamenti espressivi, anche se sempre all'interno di un binario logico. Tra gli episodi di maggiore impatto appuntiamo sul nostro taccuino l'iniziale "Voice," nella quale si rintraccia l'ottima amalgama del trio, che sviluppa una melodia mutevole; le gentilezze espresse da "Temptation," con il pianismo delicato di Hiromi sotto i riflettori; l'intrigante "Delusion" che riesce a trasmettere immagini di orizzonti sconfinati, dipinti con estrema naturalezza e buon gusto, senza dimenticare il delicato omaggio a Beethoven di "Beethoven's piano".
Difficile trovare grinze nella tessitura del Trio Project pensato da Hiromi, ed è forse l'eccessiva levigatura della materia sonora a far risaltare un sentimento che potrebbe far storcere il naso a chi è in cerca di percorsi d'ascolto in salita.
