Xose Miguelez

Xose Miguélez is considered as one of the most relevant jazz musicians in Galicia. His most recent project, "Contradictio", second album released by the American jazz record label "Origin records" features Jean-Michel Pilc, piano, Marcos Cavaleiro, drums and Carlos Barretto, dlbass. He earned a master's degree in jazz performance at the "Guildhall School of Music" in London and a BA in jazz from "Esmae" in Oporto. He complemented his music education studying privately with Chris Cheek, Matt Otto, Ethan Iverson and Jean Toussaint among others. Xose teaches traditional Galician music and heads the jazz orquestra at the "Conservatorio profesional de música de Ourense". He is a "Forestone - Japan" and "Jody-jazz Usa" artist.
