What Next

What Next is the hardest working jazz trio in the Golden Triangle today, playing jazz the way it used to sound and the way it’s going to sound. Primarily an instrumental unit comprised of piano, bass, and drums, What Next plays jazz music from 1900 to 1970, then skips 30 years and plays original compositions from last week. We work at every possible volume level, from below the sound of the cutlery, to above the sound of the roaring crowd. The trio is sometimes augmented by instruments such as guitars, congas, organs, footwear(see photo), sung and spoken word, industrial and non-industrial equipment and materials, and other less conventional sonic apparatus
