Introducing...... The Brandywine Valley Saxophone Quartet Do you enjoy listening to the sultry, sensual sound of the saxophone? Just imagine that feeling multiplied by four, and you will have an idea of what you will experience when you hear the Brandywine Saxophone Quartet. The concept of the saxophone quartet has been around for many years, originating in France in the early 20th century with Marcel Mule. The idea was to duplicate the sound of a string quartet with four saxophonists, soprano, alto, tenor and baritone. Through the years the saxophone quartet concept expanded into the jazz realm with recordings by the Hollywood Saxophone Quartet and the superb arrangements of Lennie Niehaus. The Brandywine Valley Saxophone Quartet is a group led by Saxophonist/Composer Wendell Hobbs

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, shelter in place and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary effort that will help musicians now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the bottom right video ad). Thank you.
