From her earliest days she knew she wanted to be a musician.. Her father used to shuttle her to her very first gigs at bowling alleys, restaurants, and local venues. When she was 14 she switched to electric bass. This is when she found her niche........ BOTH SINGING AND PLAYING standards. Lisa Young is well known to World and Jazz Music listeners as a creative vocal stylist and improviser, incorporating Indian and African elements in her work. A longtime student of maestro Guru Kaaraikkudi Mani in Chennai, India, Lisa specializes in "Konnakol" - South Indian vocal percussion. She has studied South Indian music since 1994, both in Australia and in India. In 2010 she received the Monash-Pratt Post Graduate Award for her PhD Music Performance candidature at Monash University. Emilia Mårtensson is a London based Swedish/Slovenian vocalist and composer of considerable repute. Since graduating from Trinity College of Music, Greenwich in 2007, Emilia has built a well- deserved reputation as one of the most exciting young vocalists on the UK Jazz scene. Her gently expressive voice and highly personal compositions are firmly rooted within the folklore and countryside of her native southern Sweden, adding to the mystique and allure of a distinctive and truly original artist. Dan has appeared on local radio stations including The Fabulous 570 KLAC and The Lounge on 690 AM with radio personalities Brad "Martini" Chambers and Gary Owens.
