Tiffany Austin
Tiffany Austin had sung on three continents—around her native Los Angeles while attending college, then for a year in London, and eventually for five and a half years in Tokyo—before setting music aside upon being accepted in 2009 at the University of California's Boalt School of Law in Berkeley. Yet the itch left by the music bug never went away, and a year into her law studies, she enrolled on a full scholarship at the nearby Jazzschool (now the California Jazz Conservatory), where her refreshingly original singing style attracted the attention of such innovative young San Francisco Bay Area bandleaders as bassist Marcus Shelby and tenor saxophonist Howard Wiley

Irene Jalenti
Born:
Born into a family of illustrious Italian musicians, Irene Jalenti has followed a singular creative path as a jazz vocalist, songwriter and arranger drawing on an international array of kindred musical currents. Possessing a strikingly rich cello-like tone, she’s equally impressive improvising a scat solo or interpreting a song with soulful intensity (across five languages). While her sound is often compared to international legends like Nina Simone, Mercedes Sosa, and Beth Carvalho, her phrasing, repertoire and poetic sensibility are all her own. A creative force on Baltimore’s jazz scene since 2010, Jalenti turned the pandemic-induced hiatus into artist retreat, composing and arranging a gorgeous set of material for her 2021 debut album Dawn featuring guest stars Sean Jones (trumpet and flugelhorn) and Warren Wolf (vibraphone).

A gifted young singer with distinctive and wide-ranging vocal skills, JORDANA TALSKY continues to celebrate the recent release of her critically-praised debut recording, “Standard Deviation”, a mix of pop and jazz standards, currently receiving airplay across Canada, the U.S.A., Europe, and Australia. The high-flying vocalist/songwriter was a finalist in the 2014 John Lennon Songwriting Competition for one of the album’s original tracks, “Panta Niwas”; a semi-finalist in the Sarah Vaughan International Vocal Competition; and runner-up for the Julian Award of Excellence for Emerging Canadian Artists (CJSF Radio, Simon Fraser University). Jordana’s unique sound and varied style may be attributed to her wide ranging experience, having trained in opera, and later work with jazz-funk (Kokoro), acapella (Effusion) and a Gilbert & Sullivan theatre company (Savoy Society). In her native Toronto, she worked hard to develop her own sound and immersed herself in various projects, including the Young Centre for the Performing Arts’ inaugural Emerging Artists Program; Discoveries, a showcase of emerging Canadian talent at one of Canada’s premier live music venues; and as a member of the prestigious Toronto Mendelssohn Choir

Never in her wildest dreams would she be singing professionally, but, a supportive professor got her a gig and the singing bug hit. Kelly uses her voice like an instrumentalist creating unique vocal and rhythmic textures in a wide range of styles from Be Bop to R & B. She gives uncompromising attention to the meaning and emotion of a song never playing it safe and letting the music take her where it needs to go.
