Sarah Cabral

Sarah Cabral was born in Londrina in South Region, Brazil. In her work is a connection with poetry, theater, folklore, and a mix of musical genres – modern jazz, avant-garde, traditional as well as popular Brazilian music. Cabral moved to the San Francisco Bay Area in 2003. Influenced by musical greats such as Lenine, João Bosco and Antonio Carlos Jobim, she formed a band named Macabae to focus on performing Brazilian popular music from the 1960’s and 70’s – mixed in with a contemporary repertoire. In 2005 she began collaborating with mentor Marcos Silva, with whom she continues to work. Other collaborations include performances and recordings with Carlos Oliveira, Ricardo Peixoto, Wayne Wallace, Scott Thompson, Alex Calatayud, Aaron Germain, Ian Faquini, Celso Alberti, Kevin Welch (Vagabundo Records), Eva Scow, Phil Thompson, Bob Crawford, Jeff Buens, Espacio, Bororo Felipe and Fabiano Chagas. Suzanne Mellard has a unique voice among her contemporaries and has many influences from Sarah Vaughan and Betty Carter through to Mark Murphy and Kurt Elling. One highlight of her career was to be invited to perform with Dame Cleo Laine’s band featuring Alan Ganley, John Horler, Mark Nightingale, Malcolm Creese and the legendary Sir John Dankworth at The Stables Venue in Wavendon. Suzanne’s Dynamic voice encompasses many varied styles and shows her wide range of influences, from Soul and Blues through to Contemporary Jazz and Fusion. Tamara Usatova

Tamara Usatova is a Russian soul/pop/jazz singer and songwriter who began her career back in Russia where she was born. She acquired her stage experience through numerous gigs and appearances, performing non-stop with jazz and pop bands in Ukraine, Russia and the U.S. After winning a scholarship to Berklee College Of Music, Tamara decided to pursue her goal of becoming a professional singer and songwriter. Since 2012, she discovered a passion for writing songs and is now very successful in it. One of her new songs, “Watching the World Go By”, was chosen out of 150 submissions, to be performed at Boston’s “Perfect Pitch” contest in March 2013. In 2012 she got a chance to work as a singer for a famous Russian artist Alsou and to participate in the big anniversary concert together with Stevie Wonder musicians Ryan Kilgore, Darryl Munyungo Jackson, Gigi Gonaway. Currently, Tamara is making her first album, collaborating with different musicians and writing music for other artists. Tamara combines her love for the great soul, jazz and R&B singers in her music with influences from Ella Fitzgerald, Aretha Franklin and Billie Holiday to Anita Baker, Whitney Houston and Celine Dion to name a few.
