Marithé Van der Aa is a young jazz vocalist. She was born in Belgium, but spent most of her childhood in England, where she studied at a school in Brentwood, Essex. In these early years of her life, she was active as a student at the London Academy Of Music and Dramatic Art and as a member of a youth choir. After she had moved back to Belgium, she started taking both singing and music theory lessons at a music academy. After doing that for three years, she decided to start taking private, classical singing and piano lessons as well. At the age of sixteen, she started art school (HKJ in Hasselt), where she studied jazz vocals

Johanna Elina Sulkunen

Johanna Elina Sulkunen is a Finnish vocalist who has been based in Copenhagen since 2009. She has released two albums on her own name Johanna Elina. She is now topical with her new genre-crossing album 'Belonging' (Eclipse/ DME) that was Nominated as the Best Vocal Album (Grammy) 2016 in Denmark. The album was finalized at Sundlaugin studio in Iceland, with Birgir Jón Birgisson. Birgir has been working with many great international artists (e.g. Sigur Rós.) Singer, composer and flutist, was born in 1961 in Milan, Italy, where he still lives.

Graduate at the Conservatoire “G. Verdi” (Milan, Italy), he was formed and matured in different musical areas as progressive rock, jazz, opera, ancient and contemporary music.

He dedicated himself to jazz and vocal improvisation studies, with artists such as: Maggie Nicols, Bob Stoloff, Jay Clayton, André Minvielle, Fabrizio Cassol.

He worked also as a socio-educationalist, singing teacher and chorister.

His eclecticism has led him to collaborate, among others with: Zètema Orchestra (with Steve Lacy, Glenn Ferris, Gianluigi Trovesi, Paolo Fresu), Cantosospeso Choir (with Nana Vasconcelos, Miriam Makeba), Bruno Tommaso, Gianni Lenoci, Ferdinando Faraò & Artchipel Orchestra (also with Mike & Kate Westbrook), Micrologus Ensemble, Chorus of the Teatro Regio in Turin (under the direction, among others, of Semyon Bichkov, Pinchas Steinberg), Athestis Chorus (under the direction, among others, of Myun Wun Chung, Jeffrey Tate), Teatro alla Scala (Milan), Teatro La Fenice (Venice), Piccolo Teatro (Milan).

She has performed Opera and Original Works with Dr. Gregory Hopkins, Reggie Workman and his All-Star Big Band.

Shye Ben Tzur

Residing in both India and Israel, Shye Ben Tzur is an Israeli singer and musician who composes qawwalis in Hebrew, Urdu, and Hindi, combining Sufi devotional music with Western elements. Born in New York City, Ben Tzur became interested in Indian music after seeing Indian classical musicians Hariprasad Chaurasia and Zakir Hussain perform in Jerusalem. He traveled to India and began studying Indian classical music, and eventually began to compose qawwali music in his native language, Hebrew. He regularly collaborates with Rajasthan folk musicians, and has worked with famous musicians such as Indian singer Shubha Mudgal, Spanish guitarist Fernando Perez, Israeli percussionist Zohar Fresco, and others

With her phenomenal timing and improvisations in the tradition of Ella Fitzgerald and Sarah Vaughn she provides her very own counterpoint to the musicians around her. As a singer and arranger in vocal group ‘YesSister,JazzSister’ who just released their second album ‘Crazy People’, she’s been playing all the main Jazzfestivals in the Netherlands. This year she wil sing with Hot Club the Piracicaba at the biggest gypsyjazz festival in Brasil; Festival de Jazz Manouche de Piracicaba.
