Julie Lyon grew up with many and varied musical influences but from a very young age knew that she wanted to be a singer. She studied piano and voice from age 15 through college, earning a bachelor’s degree in vocal performance. Classically trained and reared on pop, rock and blues, the draw of the vocal jazz greats, Sarah Vaughan, Nat King Cole, Ella Fitzgerald and many others, opened the door to a world in which Ms. Lyon is now at the top of her game. Initially fronting the premier jazz quartet in Orlando, Florida, Ms. Lyon and her drummer/husband/partner Tom Cabrera pulled up stakes, settled in the New York metropolitan area and assembled a quintet of remarkable musicians for their Unseen Rain Records release

Betty Joplin

BETTY JOPLIN GRAMMY NOMINATED VOCALIST ASCAP’s ABE OLMAN SCHOLARSHIP AWARD RECIPIENT NAIRD AWARD RECIPIENT Betty's mother recognized her God-given talent when she was 3 years old. At the age of 4, (so young and small her feet were unable to reach the piano pedals) she was being invited to sing and accompany herself on piano at various churches in her home town, Jackson, Michigan. By age 7, the church appointed her pianist for church services as well as for the church choir. She continued to do so until age 17 when she got married. By the age of 19, she had 3 children and was divorced (she later had one more child)

Holly Holmes

Born: March 24, 1977

Jazz vocalist and musicologist Holly Holmes began singing as a young girl growing up in Wisconsin. Through the good fortune of an excellent high school music program, Holly developed a lifelong love for jazz and Brazilian music. She earned a degree in jazz studies from Western Michigan University and following graduation in 2000 was awarded an internship with the jazz programming department at Washington DC's prestigious Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. There she assisted with the Dr. Billy Taylor radio series as well as working as an audio engineer for other live performances featuring Nnenna Freelon, Kurt Elling, Freddy Cole, and several others. Her debut album The Climb (2001) reflects Holly's varied influences

Singer and songwriter ADELE ZANE has performed at such prestigious New York City jazz clubs as the world famous Birdland, the Iridium Jazz Room and the Metropolitan Room. Lauded by critics Zane has also performed at diverse Manhattan venues such as The Bitter End and CBGB's. Zane released her third CD, A Stranger in Town in October 2009. Co-produced and arranged by Andrew Green it contains Zane's original, Girl at the Bar. Her second CD SO BLUE released in March of 2005 contains the original tune, Tell Me, co-written with Michelle Shaw, featuring Jim Clouse on saxophone, a heartfelt rendition of Gil Scott-Heron's Pieces of A Man and bass and vocal cuts of Cry Me A River and Tom Petty's Breakdown featuring bassist Hilliard Greene.

Sharon Bailey

The combination of talented musicians cradling Sharon's well-pitched, cashmere sound is an aural treat. She currently lives in The Greater Philadelphia area, and brightens every room with her "smile and style." Sharon Leilani Bailey was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, spending her formative years on the beautiful island of Terciera, Azores, Portugal. Her love for jazz stems from her youth. Her father, an Air Force pilot, traveled with his many jazz recordings and his cornet, providing a stimulating musical environment for Sharon while he played along with the recordings. Sharon did too, and her command performance debut was a trip to the elementary school principal's office, repeating "Darktown Strutters' Ball" instead of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star," as instructed, on her song-flute
