Bianca Morales

Born: January 19, 1966

Bianca Morales—half Afro-Cuban, half Finnish—is a renowned recording and performing jazz vocalist and composer. At the age of 14, she had already started her jazz career, both singing and recording with Grani Big Band. Bianca was well-established by the age of 18 after winning MTV 3’s (one of Finland’s main national TV channels) Spring Tune Contest in 1984 with an original composition that she co-wrote, a reggae tune titled “Our Party.” Bianca continues to be a full-time jazz performer continuing a busy performance schedule, both in Finland and many other countries around the world including the U.S

Michele Mele

Michele Mele is from a family of professional musicians, and has been writing songs for over twenty years. She was something of a prodigy, and began playing piano as a small child. Her talent was quickly obvious, and before she actually entered High School she had already completed all of the necessary music credits necessary for graduation. Michele graduated from the University of Toronto Faculty of Music in 1982, and in 1984 she graduated from the Faculty of Education. That same year, she directed an original musical production written by the Music Department of the Faculty of Education for presentation to local public schools. With a keen interest in live theatre, she also directed productions of Tennessee Williams’ “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof” and “The Glass Menagerie”

Solitaire Miles

Solitaire Miles... the name has a ring to it, echoing with loneliness and distance... it sounds too good to be true, but look on her birth certificate and you'll see it's the real thing: Solitaire Miles. Listen to her sing and you'll hear the real thing, too. Considering the ancestry of hipness she needed to get a name like that, you won't be surprised to learn that Solitaire comes from a swinging bloodline. Her grandmother Sybil Der Manuel was a big band vocalist in the early 1940's. When Sol, aged three, heard her first Billie Holiday side, she thought she was hearing Grandma. When Sybil played the piano and sang, young Sol would sit underneath next to the foot pedals for hours, drinking in the sounds of the past that would one day become her future.

Christine Rosholt

Born: January 3, 1965

Christine Rosholt represents a fresh voice in jazz standards in the Twin Cities. She brings two decades of performance experience to the stage, with roots going back to the Children’s Theater Company and including a variety of types of public performance ranging from original performance art pieces to traditional theater to singing in a variety of groups. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago majoring in Performance Art and Photography. Her career as a jazz vocalist began in October of 2002. She currently works with many of the best jazz musicians in the Twin Cities in a variety of venues. She has held a weekly Wednesday night gig at Café Havana since October of 2003

Michelle Karn

Born: March 26, 1985

I am a senior voice student at the University of Rhode Island. My primary area of interest is classical music including arias, art songs, spirituals, folksongs, and musical theatre. I have also performed with The Stress Relief Band at venues like The Oakland Beach Carousel Festival. Scholastically, I have recieved many awards such as Outstanding Music Student Award and The New England and Rhode Island chapters of the Association for Quality Control 2003 and 2006 Scholarship recipient. During my time at URI, I have been involved in Concert Choir, University Chorus, Opera Workshop, and URI's chamber choir, Lively Experiment.This spring I will be presenting my senior recital, featuring various classical works and challenging arias

Michelle Rounds

Michelle first performed live in Sydney in 1989 as "Running Late" with Michael J Kenny on piano at The Harbour Zone nightclub, Bathurst Street. She formed her soul band "The Quiet Storm" in 1992 with Ara Nessasian (keys), Victor Rounds (bass) and Con Settineri (drums) playing a three month residency at The York Tavern, Sussex Street. All these gigs were soul/Latin. She was also working as female vocalist for "Satumbainda" (Latin) and lead vocalist for 3-piece "Hot Tamales" (Mississippi Delta Blues). In March 1993 she was taken by Ken Jansen Ho (Golden Dragon) to sing in Suva, Fiji for the country's first televised music concert held at Lucky Eddies and performed with Manoa Tuisti (vocals), Tui Ravai (piano), Tom Mawi (guitar), Niko Bulai (bass), Paul Steven (drums)

Quinn Lemley star of Burlesque to Broadway and The Heat Is On! A life in concert celebrating Rita Hayworth. How does a nice Midwestern girl end up in sequins and feathers singing The Standards? Well, Quinn came out of the womb performing. By the age of four, she was starring at her parents chicken n ribs restaurant, The Buffy, hence the feathers, singing to the diverse customers from executives to the local flasher. Far Out Foxy Lady from A Far Out Land enhanced her desire for flashy glamour. Quinn’s passion and education for classic films, especially Rita Hayworth, Big Band, Broadway, Burlesque Music and Humor came from her best friend, Granny Lemley, who shared stories and music transporting Q into another world

Lili Añel

Born: June 8

Lili Añel considers music a calling. This striking six-foot tall singer-songwriter-musician grew up in New York City’s Spanish Harlem, where she discovered her passion for music. As a child, Lili remembers singing along to her mother’s Cuban, jazz and pop-standard albums. It was also her mother who supported Lili’s desire to join the church choir. However, it was her Afro-Cuban grandfather’s recognition of how much joy her singing brought others, being the voice that stood out in that choir, which served to set her feet firmly on the path of a career in music.
