Kat Edmonson

Born: August 3, 1983

Kat Edmonson is an award-winning songwriter and singer "with an equal foothold in jazz, cabaret and vintage cosmopolitanism pop" (The New York Times).  She has been featured on Austin City Limits, Tiny Desk Concerts, A Prairie Home Companion, and The Late Show.

The New York Times describes her music as “fresh as a spring bouquet” while NPR says, “Hearing Edmonson makes it virtually impossible to do anything but stop and listen.”

Raised on the music and film of the early-to-mid-twentieth century, Kat is a rare artist who embodies the spirit of the past while remaining resolutely au courant. She performs original songs and familair classics in her live show, interweaving humorous anecdotes, philosophical musings, and her love of film with disarming candor and vulnerability. Her longtime band members’ keen and sensitive accompaniment allows Kat to freely veer off-script as she’s often inclined to do

Lena Prima

Born: November 14, 1963

As the daughter of the legendary Louis Prima and singer Gia Maione Prima, Lena Prima is blessed with a unique musical heritage. Louis Prima (a New Orleans native) has been hailed in the annals of 20th century American music as an innovative genius and Lena's mother Gia Maione (a New Jersey native and Louis' fifth and last wife) is a classically trained singer who married Louis in 1963 and performed with him throughout the 60's and 70's until his passing in 1978. The Prima family had homes with golf courses in both cities and moved back and forth during Lena's formative years. She grew up singing and dancing on stage with her parents, and touring with them every summer when school was out. Lena continued her training in school musical groups and stage productions. She began high school at Covington High in Louisiana and graduated from Clark High School in Las Vegas where she studied music under Marcia Neel, winner of The Disney Channel's National Performing Arts Teacher of the Year, (www.musiceducationconsultants.net) and then attended UNLV, studying art, music and dance. For ten years Lena worked a regular job during the day and sang in rock & roll clubs at night while writing and recording original music, including an album with platinum producer/engineer Geoff Workman (The Cars, Journey, Queen, Sammy Hagar, etc.). In 1991, she made singing a full-time career and began touring the casino/resort circuit with various shows and groups such as Sweet Louie & The Checkmates and The Spiral Staircase (known for their smash hit "I Love You More Today Than Yesterday"). In 1999, she created her multi-media show "Louis Prima, That's My Dad!". Since her debut performance on Father's Day, 2000 in Las Vegas, Lena has headlined to sold-out audiences and has been received with standing ovations around the country at festivals, theaters, performing arts centers, casinos and corporate events, including a two year run at the Sahara Hotel on the Las Vegas Strip where her famous father performed in the early 1950's

Chris Calloway

Chris Calloway (daughter of the legendary Cab Calloway) passed away in the summer of 2008 after bravely surviving breast cancer for 18 years. Chris made her home in Santa Fe for many years, where she was known as the “Reigning Diva of the Night”. Her consummate talent as a singer combined with her comic timing, her irreverent humor, her ability to laugh at herself and her circumstances set her apart as a performer.

Tammy Scheffer

Born: June 12, 1982

Vocalist and composer Tammy Scheffer has been a creative force in NYC’s vibrant music scene for more than a decade. Hailed by the Chicago Tribune as “innovative, provocative and alluring,” Scheffer lends her voice to ensembles that range from jazz to progressive rock, from improvised music to modern classical music. Most recently she appeared on albums with Stefan Bauer’s Voyage West, Amanda Monaco’s Pirkei Avot, and Joe Phillips’ opera The Grey Land. As a bandleader, Tammy released an album with her sextet on the label Inner Circle Music. Tammy performed at Carnegie Hall and Birdland in NYC, Kimmel Center in Philadelphia, Revoice Festival in London, MISA Festival in China, San Sebastian Jazz Festival in Spain, Kennedy Center Millennium Stage in Washington DC, Chicago Cultural Center, and many other premier stages.

Moose Alexander

Born: December 28, 1979

At the start, the stage was dark. Picture Then he approached the microphone, His eyes looked briefly up, (sky turned). Then the voice… An ambience to itself, subtle, mahogany warm, valley-like deep, to bring back “the cool.” Not a jazz singer, that time has passed, but a human chant to recall the sound of the master’s horn. Among others, Moose Alexander has studied privately with Janet Lawson, Miles Griffin, Junior Mance, Chico Hamilton, Billy Harper, Dave Liebman and Reggie Workman. He graduated in 2003 with a B.F.A in Jazz Performance from New School University. Amen.

Anka Koziel

Born: March 4

Anka Koziel - born in a small Polish town and currently living in the Netherlands, works as a free-lance vocalist, educator at the jazz dept of the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, arranger, composer, researcher. In 2008 she released her debut album Tales of the Forest, in 2010 a live concert on DVD - "Requiem Para El Mundo" with Nueva Manteca, and in 2014 - album "Earthing" with The Hague Ethospheric Orchestra (THEO). Her last album is closely connected with her research on the importance of rhythm in jazz phrasing and improvisation, "Slightly Odd" self-produced and released in 2018. Koziel’s dynamic vocal range and variety of sound is almost unlimited

Esther Miller

Born: April 12, 1968

Esther Miller is a jazz singer of the classic school, possessing an outstanding technique, sensitive interpretation and an eclectic repertoire. She was born and raised in Port Elizabeth, South Africa's east coast motor city, where she sang in church and school choirs and raided the family Nat King Cole albums for early inspiration. She studied medicine in Cape Town, but soon gave in to the lure of jazz. In a wonderfully back-handed compliment, her alma mater, the University of Cape Town, reflected: “Giving up medicine in favour of Jazz was clearly a wise move.” She started off as the vocalist with Gerry Spencer’s “Jazz Cyclone”--one of the leading bands on the South African jazz circuit at the time

Sally Wallis

Sally Wallis is a London-based singer-songwriter and voice-over artist.
