Adia Ledbetter was born in Durham, N.C. She started singing in elementary school and church and started taking voice lessons in high school. After high school, she took a break from voice lessons to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. While attending college she had the opportunity to travel and sing jazz with pianist Yusuf Salim and bassist Freeman Ledbetter. After working in the field of Exercise and Sports Science for about three years, Adia decided to quit working to pursue her dreams of becoming a jazz musician. Doubling as both a vocalist and arranger, he has designed a style all his own while using the music of the Great American Songbook. From 2003-2006, Carter studied jazz and voice with some of the biggest names in the business at the famed New School for Jazz & Contemporary Music in New York City, NY. Under the tutledge of the great trumpeters Jimmy Owens and Cecil Bridgewater, drummer Chico Hamilton, and vocalists Kate Baker, Janet Lawson, Amy London, and Kammal Scott, Carter was able to hone his talents as a vocalist, bandleader, and arranger. Nette Robinson is a musician steeped in jazz roots and greatly influenced by artists such as Thelonious Monk, Charles Mingus, Lester Young, Count Basie and Carmen Mcrae. In 2003 she studied for a Jazz Diploma in Chichester on saxophone, voice and piano, passed with the highest Distinction and was awarded the College prize for outstanding achievement. Nette Robinson is a creative arranger. She writes for big band and has performed her charts with big bands including the National Youth Jazz Orchestra. She also writes for small ensembles. One of her main musical projects is "NETTE ROBINSON'S LITTLE BIG-BAND" featuring Tony Woods (saxophones) and Adrian Fry (trombone.) The LBB is a unique, innovative ensemble which celebrates and pays tribute to big-band legends by presenting imaginative reinterpretations of big-band classics, slimmed-down for a 5 piece band
