Melody Gardot: Sunset in the Blue

Read "Sunset in the Blue" reviewed by Scott Gudell

Melody Gardot emerged from her own smoky shadows of the mid-2000s as if she were some femme fatale emanating from a film noir movie. The plot twist was that she was the good girl, but it was her body that had been damaged in an auto accident. An extensive recovery followed. Her long, lean cane only ...

China Moses

It could never be said that China Moses and Raphael Lemonnier were fated to join forces on a project, given their rather different career paths and the seeming absence of any compelling reason for the two artists to meet. As an MTV host, singer, author, songwriter and producer, China is first and foremost an eclectic artist who embodies the American idea of an entertainer. This aspect of her personality can be traced to her childhood, steeped in music and the world of theatre. From her mother, the singer {{Dee Dee Bridgewater = 5288}}, she inherited the ability to work towards long-term goals

Sylvain Rifflet

Saxophonist, Clarinettist and French composer, graduated from the Conservatoire de Paris, Sylvain Rifflet is the winner of the competition of La Defense and has received several awards including a "victoire du jazz" and a "Django d’or". He has performed or recorded with many musicians, including some of the "must-see" performers on the European scene (Louis Sclavis, Aldo Romano, Michel Portal, Kenny Wheeler, Riccardo Del Fra ...) but also alongside American musicians such as Joey Baron, Jon Irabagon, Jon Hollenbeck, or Michael Formaneck ... Spearheading the young generation of jazz musicians from the first decade of the 21st century, he has collaborated with those who are today on the front of the European "new scene": Verneri Pohjola, Airelle Besson, Thomas de Pourquery , Alban Darche, Pascal Schumacher, Rembrandt Freirichs, Florian Weber, Eve Risser, Sébastien Boisseau, Henning Sieverts and Fred Pallem ..

All About Jazz needs your support

All About Jazz & Jazz Near You were built to promote jazz music: both recorded albums and live events. We rely primarily on venues, festivals and musicians to promote their events through our platform. With club closures, limited reopenings and an uncertain future, we've pivoted our platform to collect, promote and broadcast livestream concerts to support our jazz musician friends. This is a significant but neccesary step that will help musicians and venues now, and in the future. You can help offset the cost of this essential undertaking by making a donation today. In return, we'll deliver an ad-free experience (which includes hiding the sticky footer ad). Thank you!
