The U.S. Navy's premier jazz ensemble, the Commodores are one of the finest big bands in existence today. A unit of the United States Navy Band Washington, D.C., the group features 18 of the Navy's finest musicians and a jazz vocalist and has been appropriated called, "A National Treasure." Under the leadership of Senior Chief Musician Philip M. Burlin, the Commodores continue to perform and spread the Navy message, "America's Navy - A Global Force for Good," to audiences nationwide. Since their founding in 1969, the Commodores have become one of the most acclaimed jazz ensembles in the country
