John Kalleen - Trumpet and Flugelhorn “I love music!” exclaims John who was exposed to music at a very young age. “Music was always being played or performed in my house, everything from Miles to Mozart.” Beginning on piano at the age of eight under the tutelage of his pianist/composer father, John soon started having his own ideas about music. At a jazz concert John heard how the young Freddie Hubbard played the trumpet and it became clear to John that he would express his musical creativity with the trumpet. John’s mother bought him his first trumpet at the age of twelve

Yakiv Tsvietinskyi

Born: August 13, 1991

Jazz trumpeter Yakiv Tsvietinskyi is one of the modern voices of the Ukrainian jazz scene. Deeply rooted in classical and modernist music as a composer, Yakiv creates jazz pieces with developed complex textures while maintaining the freedom and spontaneity of the improvisational nature of jazz. His trumpet style combines the influences of Chet Baker’s lyricism, Clark Terry’s feel of motion, Tomasz Stanko’s sound and Kenny Wheeler’s unpredictability. Born in 1990s and being a classically trained trumpet player in industrial Dnipro, Ukraine, there was no way to learn jazz other than self-education

Allistair Elliott

Allistair Elliott was born just outside Belfast, Northern Ireland. Excelling at the classical side of the trumpet, he performed in London, England and also Vienna, Austria by the age of seventeen. Elliott moved to England where he received his music degree from Leeds College of Music, also the alma mater of recent Grammy nominee Corrine Bailey Rae. He has performed with musical greats, including John Dankworth, the Jive Bunny Hits of the late 80’s, The Supremes, Elaine Del Mar. He has shared the stage with sax great, Joshua Redman and toured with internationally renowned performers Decidedly Jazz Danceworks
